We are not even close to painting our house yet, but it's fun to dream and scheme about paint colors. What makes this selection so hard is the vast criteria it must fit. This paint color will be used in all rooms of all of our rentals going forward. I know that I am allowed to change my mind later, but I want to make the management of our rental property interior paint easy and streamline. I want the paint color to be a timeless and classic greige (that's a warm gray blend).
If you have ever gone down the paint aisle, you know that there are hundreds of colors of whites and many more grays and beiges. Talk about decision fatigue. How does anyone pick one!?! I understand that it's all about the undertones. Some whites are warm, others on the cool scale. Some whites have a pink undertone, while other sport a green or orange undertone. So how do you know? The real answer is that you paint the room with all the options and see what one looks best in the space. I don't have that luxury, I need to pick one that looks good in every room, all the time. So do I just go with a pure white over every single surface? Naw, these homes need to look a little more upscale.
Right now I have picked Sherwin Williams Extra White for the doors and trim and bathrooms, and Benjamin Moore Hazy Skies for the main wall color.
