We slept soundly and slept in until 8:00am! I cleaned up the house before going on a walk through the country roads behind our house. Finally, I got to work on more of the existing flooring fiasco. It’s starting to go quicker because I finally devised a smarter system of getting up the flooring with a heavy Burke bar.

I finished an entire audiobook Present over Perfect and actually enjoy working on the house today. Maybe because it's a balmy 40 degrees and not below freezing. Tim donned a disposable suit, mixed up some non-toxic chemicals, and went under house to treat all the wood for powder post beetles. The bid we got was for $1300, so we are saving a couple bucks here (though it does not look like much fun for Tim). Again, I love our Saturday at home routine. I cooked all day, and Tim and I just got to be together while building our home.

All the underlayment is up, thanks to that big, yellow Burke bar. A million nails were pulled up while on my knees (thank goodness for the gel kneepads!). There is still ugly vinyl glued down to the wood floor. Ugh.
